Mooer has been impressing musicians with its unique effects pedals for over a decade, and the new MVP3 Loopation is set to continue this trend. It is a versatile, feature-rich pedal designed to allow musicians to create continuous loops with their voice and instruments, and it is part of Mooer's recent VP series, which provides versatile microphone input support. The Loopation provides 11 save slots for recorded audio loops, 8 of which have 5 minutes of recording time, and the other three have 10 minutes. The slots can be selected with the simple "song" dial, and once the audio is recorded, the files will be saved automatically to the device. The pedal offers two recording modes: real-time and automatic. Recording in real-time mode is triggered when the right footswitch is pressed, in the same style as traditional loop pedals. Conversely, automatic mode goes into standby when the right footswitch is pressed and starts recording once a signal is detected, stopping the recording with another press. However, the looping functions do not stop there. Pressing the right footswitch starts playback of the file, and during playback, another press of the right footswitch will enable dub mode, which will continue until the footswitch is pressed once more. Playback can be stopped with two quick presses of the right button or, alternatively, by switching to a different save slot. When playback is stopped, users can delete all recorded layers by holding down the right footswitch for 1 second or by holding down the second "stop" button. Finally, users can undo their recordings by holding down the left button during playback of an overdub, and they can complete this movement again to restore the deleted layer. If the musician wishes to reverse the audio file, they can do so by pressing the left button once. The Loopation provides both XLR and 1/4" inputs, which can be used in "mixed" or "individual" modes. Users can toggle between these modes by holding down the right footswitch while connecting the power. In mixed mode, both inputs will be active, which can be balanced using the 'mix' dial, while in individual mode, the input signals will be isolated from their respective outputs. The master dial allows users to adjust the overall volume of both outputs. Surprisingly, the Loopation further boosts these features with built-in reverb and tonal effects. By holding down the "tone" button while turning the "master" dial, it is possible to adjust the reverb volume. The tone button can also be used independently to toggle between the pedal's three tone modes: flat, warm, and bright. Finally, the Loopation offers a gain adjustment knob, a 48V phantom power switch tailored for internal microphone amplification, a ground lift switch, a line-in switch, and an input for 9V 500mA DC power. When combined with the pedal's impressive looping capabilities, musicians have a complete toolkit at their disposal for full compositional processes, whether in the studio, at home, or during a live performance.
